COMMUNITY leaders have welcomed proposals that will scrap entertainment licensing requirements for village halls. The Department for Culture Media and Sport said it intended to deregulate entertainment licensing in the UK. The proposal is being made as part of the government's Red Tape Challenge.

A MOBILE phone operator is giving away 3G broadband to rural areas struggling with slow landline connections. The Three UK company has teamed up with countryside campaigners to give away mobile internet connectors in rural areas of poor or non-existent broadband.
