E-Cops - 'Have Your Say'

on Wednesday, 22 June 2011.

What activities do you think the police could stop doing, or do differently, to make the best possible use of resources? That's this week's question on 'have your say'.

The force is facing its biggest ever challenge as we work to dramatically reduce our budget, while making the most effective use of resources.

Our priority remains frontline policing and bringing offenders to justice so we must look at all other areas of business and see where we can save time and resources.

We have identified a number of activities and incidents that police have traditionally dealt with but may not actually need a police response.

For example, do you want the police to attend reports of littering or cats stuck up trees?

In these difficult times we need to be realistic about what we can achieve and focus on the issues that are important to the public.

I'd encourage anyone with a view on this matter to have their say by logging on to the forum on the force website.

Kind regards,

Superintendent Dan Vajzovic
