Cheveley Parish Council held a number of additional meetings during February in the hope of reducing the excessive procedural backlog and workload that had built up as a consequence of Council’s inability to convene during the last half of 2011

An extraordinary meeting of Cheveley Parish Council was held on Thursday 26^th January 2012 to agree the parish budget and precept (parish tax) for 2012-13. The proposed precept amounted to £9.98 per elector per year increase ostensibly to provide more support and infrastructure within the community with a total precept request of £60 000. This was in response to those requests, concerns and complaints received at the Annual Parish Meeting in 2011 and more recently as re-confirmed in a parish-wide survey.

A meeting of Cheveley Parish Council was held on Tuesday 10^th January 2012 and the Parish Council takes this opportunity to wish all residents of Cheveley and surrounding areas a ‘Happy and Healthy New Year’.  Due to limited time only the most time sensitive and pressing matters from an overly full Agenda, caused by the inability of council to convene since September 2011, were tabled for discussion at the meeting.

A meeting of Cheveley Parish Council was held on Tuesday 13^th December . As readers are probably aware the Council has been unable to transact business since August 2011 and therefore there have been no press reports. Whilst the Council has been quorate in number during this period  it was considered unwise to undertake Parish business due to a highly questionable clause in its Standing Orders  that, since May, required the presence of an individual Councillor –a problem highlighted after the May 2011 elections to residents of Cheveley.

A meeting of Cheveley Parish Council was held on Tuesday 12^th July that concentrated on improving communication between the Council and its parishioners.

The Annual Meeting of Cheveley Parish Council was held on Tuesday 17^th May.
